The Garage is a local men's grooming salon that offers the best hair stylists for men.
For this project I wanted to really dig into the garage feel and give them a product that feels and looks like The Garage, and it started with redesigning their website.
Their old website was difficult to read, with a color scheme that was all over the place. Booking an appointment was arduous and even more difficult on a mobile device. With these pain points identified, it was easier to approach redesigning their site.
The new look simplifies areas of problems:
- Having two separate sites for both locations instead of one.
- Difficulty reading.
- Difficulty navigation.
- Arduous booking process.
The logo gets an update as well. The old logo was meant to evoke an old garage neon sign, but unfortunately missed the mark. Instead, opting for a custom wordmark logo, still allows the brand to have a strong garage feel, whether it be a professional garage or a man's in-home sanctuary,
Taking the mustache icon from the previous mark, removing it from the container and enlarging it allows the customers to connect with something familiar that they've know, while introducing the new custom wordmark. This will allow the brand to utilize the icon or the wordmark in various mediums, as they need.
